Just purchased my Macbook Pro 13' (the 2.5 GHz one) and it froze on me a few times when it was 3 days old -- mouse cursor froze, keyboard wouldn't register, etc., so I had to use the power button to reboot. Openoffice for macbook. Each time, it rebooted fine, but the machine froze again in the same manner three more times.

The only thing I had in my USB ports was my (very old) cellphone (to charge it & that's it). Sure enough, the system.log file recorded the following problems at the time when I first plugged my cellphone into the laptop: Free script fonts for mac os x.

I'm not entirely sure what this means, other than there's something goofy going on with Bluetooth (and I wasn't even trying to use it!) I think this means its a software problem ('IOUSBFamily' I think means Input/Output USBFamily, and Input/Output is a software thing).

I've googled these error messages and found similar threads and posts by other users (some that date as far back as 2008). So it seems to be an Apple thing that's been around a while.. *sigh*
In the meantime, I've made sure my Bluetooth application is always off, and after 1 day, so far so good. *fingers crossed* I hope this issue will get enough attention so Apple can do something about it soon.
